I stumbled across this article by TIME about an article published by the magazine in 1929 about tensions between the Jewish and Arab populations of Palestine. The article mostly covers the same information that we have gone over in class, but it also includes a link to an archived version of the 1929 article which details the burning of Safed and the British response to the violence. It also records the population of the region at this time as 591,000 Muslims and 150,000 Jews.

The Jewish Telegraphic Agency also has an archive on its website that contains articles dating back to 1920 that can be searched. One news brief I found on the site from August 29, 1929 details reports on outbreaks of violence in Jerusalem, Haifa, andĀ against Jewish settlements elsewhere in Palestine. The British handling of the tensions between the Jewish and Arab populations is also mentioned in several parts.
