Donald Trump invited the Palestinian leader to the White House for a meeting in the “near future”. This is the first time they have communicated directly since his inauguration. According to a White House spokesperson, President Trump has a vision of peace for the area and that he is planning on taking a different approach than previous administrations, but his pick for ambassador seems to disagree. It is believed that his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will take the lead on the plan, but some view him as untrustworthy because his family foundation gave money to illegal settlements in the West Bank.
