Below is a link to the Press Conference Trump had with King Abdullah II of Jordan. During this press conference, they spoke about a variety of issues from the Syrian chemical bombings to the Arab-Israeli conflict. However, during this conference it seems that Trump has changed his mind on intervening in Syria and has publicly stated that the US is going to give money to the Jordanian Government in order to help them deal with influx of Syrian Refugees. Also during the press conference, Trump repeatedly praised the Jordanian government and the two seemed to be pretty friendly with each other, Abdullah even wouldn’t comment on the Travel Ban. The discussion of the Arab-Israeli Conflict on Trump’s side was that he was still looking for a two state solution; however, he also stated that he is flexible with how he views issues in the Middle East. King Abdullah’s statement to me was more interesting because he too was in favor of the Arab Peace Initiative, and wanted to “make them (Israelis) accepted into the neighborhood”. He also praised Donald Trump for his efforts early on in meeting with both Palestinian and Israeli representatives to try and create a peace agreement to what Abdullah states is “the core conflict in the region”.
