After the Gaza powerplant recently ran out of fuel, and Egyptian lines running into Gaza on the fritz, Israeli supplied electricity, payed for by the PA, was the only remaining source. However, they have now cut it off, explicitly in a move against Hamas, who currently administrates the city. This follows up earlier moves in recent weeks, where the PA ceased paying for and facilitating transport of fuel into Gaza, and ceased paying PA employees in Gaza, who haven’t worked since Hamas took over administration (A serious economic blow, as Gaza has over 40% unemployment).
