Following an Israeli army raid on February 22nd, Israeli troops fired from an armored vehicle on to a group of sheltering civilians in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus resulting in the deaths of a 13 year old boy and 65 year old man. The Israeli troops claimed to have been fired on however the videos, 3d analysis, and eyewitness testimony don’t appear to corroborate their accounts. Israeli troops continued to fire, a total of 14 times, even after their vehicle came to a halt and the huddling civilians were in full view. Incidents such as this one could amount to war crimes as civilians appear to have been deliberately targeted. 3D analysis could prove useful in documenting future incidents of potential war crimes.
