The UK decided to ban some arms sales to Israel. “Government ministers say the weapons could be used in Gaza to violate international law.”
Netanyahu claims that the UK’s decision to suspend 30 our 0f 350 weapons export licenses to Israel will embolden Hamas. Whereas Palestinian leaders are calling the decision an important step towards following international law.
In the UK, there is disagreement about the decision. Amnesty UK says there should have been more of a response.
However, the UK only supplies 1% of the arms sold to Israel (the US provides 69%) so this decision won’t have much of an effect on Israeli military performance in this war.
