An area in Eastern Ukraine where Russian militants currently control and have placed a temporary gov’t, is ordering Jews to register in the town of Donetsk. They have threatened that if the Jews do not register they will face deportation. It is rumored that a group associated with Denis Pushilin who is the chairman of the temporary government are behind the leaflets handed out to Jews.
Secretary of State John Kerry has called this a grotesque act that will not be supported.
I know this article does not directly relate to our class but I wanted to post it because this could give reason for Israel to get involved and maybe even other Western countries, especially the United States. I do no see Israel sitting by to let their people be treated this way. Furthermore, if an attack or such is taken against Eastern Ukraine, Russia most likely would retaliate which puts all of Western Europe and Central Eastern Europe ie Poland etc in danger.
