In class we could not define ‘Mochav’, here is the best description I could find.
Mochav is a type of Israeli town or settlement, in particular a type of cooperative agricultural community of individual farms which were pioneered by the Labour Zionists during the second wave of Aliyah.
The first Mochav was established in Nahalal in 1921. Governed by a council, the community was financed by a tax. The tax was equal across the board, creating a system in which the good farmers were better off than the bad ones.
