Israel has continued to hound Hezbollah targets with aerial offensive causing more than 550 causalities (including 50 children and 94 women), over 1,800 injured people, and for tens of thousands of people to flee southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah has been fighting back with cross-border fire but Israel announced that they have “eliminated” the organization’s Missiles and Rockets Force leader, Ibrahim Kobeisi.
Residents fleeing Lebanon are forced onto an overcrowded and jammed highway to Beirut. Once they arrive, they are funneled to overcrowded shelters, with many refugees forced to sleep on the streets when they can not find an open spot at the shelters. UNICEF warns that further escalation of this conflict would be “catastrophic” for families in Lebanon.
