Israeli government is hoping that Trump administration will take a different stance towards the UN on the resolution that halted the Israeli settlements in the Palestine area. The Israeli government think that this encourages the Palestinians to commit terror acts against the Israeli army and people, like the truck ramming attack in Jerusalem earlier this month. They pointed out that the settlements in Palestine are legal, because the pre-date the 1967 line that was established by the UN, because the kingdom of Israel controlled these lands historically 3000 years ago during King Solomon’s years. Both sides are refusing to negotiate currently, because they both feel hard done by, and Israel feels betrayed by the Obama administration who supported the UN resolution to halt the settlements.
