The missile attack which took place during the early hours of Thursday March 22nd marks the second Israeli attack on this facility in the past month and the third attack in the past six months. The missiles were launched from the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of the coast of Latakia and resulted in material damage. Israeli officials argue that the strikes are meant to target Iranian backed militias and arms depots however the airport has also been used to supply humanitarian aid to victims of the recent earthquake.
