The United States and Israel are discussing plans to send humanitarian aid into Gaza that would include safeguards to ensure that the aid is not diverted to Hamas. The aid would be delivered via “private foundation” with US and Israeli oversight to ensure the aid reaches only private citizens of Gaza and “the US expects the United Nations and international aid organizations to work with the framework of the foundation’s mechanism in order to ensure that supplies do not reach Hamas.”
