The Israeli military has admitted to launching an airstrike on a UN building that led to the death of an employee of the UN Office for Project Services. The building was in an “isolated location” and both sides of the conflict should be aware of the locations of all UN facilities. This admittance comes after the IDF previously released a statement denying hitting the compound at all in a press release that also stated “The IDF calls on media outlets to act with caution regarding unverified reports.” The UN employee was Bulgarian and it is noted that the Israeli government has apologized to Bulgaria.
